Engaged!
Wow, it's been over a month since the last time I wrote, and like any other such time, a lot has happened! I am engaged to the most wonderful woman in the entire world! Julianna and I decided just five days after my last post to get married. I didn't get to "propose" although I will take that opportunity when it presents itself sometime after I get home. And better yet, we decided to get married on December 30th of this year!
Things are coming together absolutely amazingly, and we only have God to thank for that! It is incredibly exciting and despite all that is going on around us, we are incredibly happy! I can't wait!
We are doing well here in Iraq. Can't give details of just how well or they might take me out back and well, you know, yell at me! Speaking of getting yelled at, I got yelled at yesterday- not for revealing classified information, just other bad stuff.
The family is doing pretty well. Dad had knee surgery again, so hopefully he will be feeling well very soon. Giod knows he'll be right back at work, so let's hope it gets better.
I have taken over 1000 photos here already, which is more than I took in the entire 8 months that I was in Kuwait two years ago! It's the fact that it's digital, I don't have to buy film, and I can tell immediately whether or not I got the shot I was looking for. If I didn't I just shoot it again until I do. I am pretty excited about the photos that I got, just not about paying for their printing- lol.
There's not much else going on that I can really talk about. It's just exciting to be going home soon.
Oh, we had a revival here a couple of weeks ago! It was totally awesome and inspiring! God really has moved in my life in the past two and a half months! He has provided me with the kind of people I want to surround myself with for the rest of my life!
Well, that's about it for right now. I'll keep in touch hopefully a little more. But I doubt it. LOL

Well, being the slacker that I am, I'm just reading your posts from Iraq...what a friend!! But, it's so awesome to hear your high spirits in spite of the situtations. Moreso, it's exciting and amazing to practically hear you beaming about Julianna! I'm very glad you're so happy. And, thank you for reminding me about what I'm looking for--someone that makes me feel like that. Look forward to talking with you more soon! Oh, and why on earth are you getting "junk mail" on your blog?? That's the craziest thing ever! lol

Ben,
I am glad all is going well. everything coming together is a good sign. going to church is good for you, i am working hard at school and time is passing quickly, its not quite the desert, but being away from those you love is never really a pleasant experience.
I want to thank you for doing all that you do.
I wish you all the best.
Congrats on your engagement again and best of luck in love and life.
Peace
Kim
Hi Ben,
It's Jeff Markowitz -- if I told you I occasionally check your away messages would you consider me a nerd or a stalker? :o)
Wonderful news about you and this girl Julianna. My hopes and prayers are with you both.
Prayer? Me praying? Yes, that's another thing. I became a Christian last October (2004). Yeah, who saw that one coming? Especially after that conversation we had at that diner 3 years ago...such a long time ago.
Hope "the brass" carts you back home to the states soon. May God bless you and your wife-to-be.
Jeff
